Gadgets at a discount
| YOU do not need deep pockets to own the latest electronic goods.
From next Friday to Sunday, discounts of up to 90 per cent will be offered on items such as LCD televisions and digital cameras from leading brands at The Home Electronics Fair. Held at the Suntec Convention Hall, the inaugural fair is organised by Sphere, which stands for SPH Events, Roadshows and Exhibitions, a subsidiary events management company of Singapore Press Holdings. Those who have tightened their purse strings and hope to cash in on bargains of about 90 per cent discount can look forward to under-$20 deals on items such as coffee-makers, hair-dryers, slow cookers and toasters at the fair, which sprawls over 2,000 sq m in Hall 402. Big-ticket items are going for less than half their original retail price. For example, a Toshiba high-definition ready 37-inch television will be sold 60 per cent cheaper at $999, compared to its original price of $2,600. An LG DVD recorder will be tagged at $139, a 45 per cent discount off the original retail price of $299. Read the full story in Saturday's edition of The Straits Times' Life! | |
