| A PRECARIOUS flight of stairs tucked away in a corner of Selegie Road leads to a surprising find: A 1950s Art Deco building turned into a bar and art gallery called Night & Day.
Stained glass windows cast coloured sun beams on a concrete floor dotted with an eclectic mix of sofas. An old-style wooden bar counter runs along a wall covered with graffiti and pop art. Milking its charms is local contemporary dance group, The Arts Fission Company, which are will turn this space into a stage for their double-bill Daydreams & Night Musings. It is showing this weekend with two different performances each night at 6.30 and 10pm. Daydreams, which will take place in the art gallery at 6.30pm, centres on the legend of moon goddess Chang Er and her swallowing of the elixir pill. At 10pm, Night Musings takes over at the bar, where four dancers clad in Doc Marten boots - playing on the theme of insomnia and restlessness in the city - will perform to video art and live music from avant-garde jazz band Iron Egg.
