A reunion Beyond hope
THE former members of rock group Beyond have moved on, and they want their fans to know it.

Two ex-members of the Hong Kong band - Paul Wong, 44, and Yip Sai Wing, 45 - will perform here in November, bringing their new post-Beyond music to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for their Beyond Next Stage Live Concert.

But Yip says the concert will be divided into solo performances from each musician, with a short segment in the middle where they will relive some of Beyond's old hits, such as Boundless Oceans Vast Skies and Glorious Years.

Wong, ex-guitarist of the group, tells Life! over the telephone from Hong Kong recently: 'I look forward to sharing the same stage with Yip and I am thinking of having a rock music battle with him. But it is a fact that we have disbanded and we are not regrouping.'

Singer Yip, who was Beyond's drummer, adds: 'This concert is called Next Stage, which shows that all of us are already in the next phase of our lives, producing and writing our own songs. This is a chance for ex-members of Beyond to perform as individuals, albeit being in the same concert.'
