Blast near Kathmandu airport
| KATHMANDU (Nepal) - A SMALL bomb exploded near the international airport in the Nepalese capital on Saturday, injuring one woman, police said.
'A woman was injured after a bomb went off near the main gate of Tribhuvan International Airport,' Ms Ganga Pant, a police inspector told AFP. Two people were picked up for questioning after the blast, she said. 'We've tightened the security around the airport after the incident,' said Ms Pant, adding that they had found a pamphlet of a Hindu fundamentalist group - Ranbir Sena - claiming responsibility for the explosion. The same group was involved in a string of small bomb attacks in the capital prior to the abolition of the monarchy in May this year. -- AFP | |
