Vice President Vincent Siew says Taiwan's government has provided free medical care for AIDS patients and taken measures to prevent the disease's spread.

The World Trade Organisation says the number of AIDS patients increased by 2.5 million in 2007 to a total of 33 million in the world. -- AP
