Hoax turns back flight
BEIJING - AN AIR China flight from Beijing turned back 10 minutes after taking off on Thursday after police received a hoax telephone threat, state media said.

Security officials at Beijing's Capital International Airport examined the plane shortly after it landed and concluded the telephone threat was a false alarm, the Xinhua news agency reported.

The flight to Hangzhou city, and another one to the same area in eastern China that was grounded amid the alarm, were allowed to fly again shortly after the unspecified threat was determined to be a hoax, the report said. -- AFP
