Ng Eng Hen to attend security conference in Munich

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen will attend the Munich Security Conference from today to Sunday.

The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a statement yesterday that Dr Ng will speak on the topic "Pacific No More? Security in East Asia and the Korean Peninsula" on Sunday.

He will also speak at the ninth Munich Young Leaders Round Table tomorrow.

In addition, he will have bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts, said Mindef.

This is the sixth time that Dr Ng is attending the conference, which has been held annually in Germany since 1963, and brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders.

This year's conference, the 53rd edition, will be attended by heads of government, defence and foreign ministers, parliamentarians, military leaders and security experts, said Mindef.
