SINGAPORE - Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen will attend the Munich Security Conference from Friday (Feb 17) to Sunday, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a statement on Thursday.

On Sunday, he will speak on the topic "Pacific No More? Security in East Asia and the Korean Peninsula". He will also speak at the ninth Munich Young Leaders Round Table on Saturday.

In addition, the minister will also have bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.

This is the sixth time Dr Ng is attending the Munich conference, which has been conducted annually in Germany since 1963 and brings together key foreign affairs and defence leaders.

This year's conference, the 53th edition, will be attended by heads of government, defence and foreign ministers, parliamentarians, military leaders and security experts, said Mindef.
