Why politics?

The 2011 General Election ignited my passion for politics and I sought to understand the ideologies of various parties and what they stood for.

I joined the SDP, impressed by the thorough research of its 2011 Shadow Budget paper, Empowering The Nation.

Why you?

I want to stand up for people who are facing difficulties. Many tell us: "This is not good; that is not good."

It's daunting to be in front of so many people and presenting ourselves - and it's not easy being in the opposition - but I believe someone has to stand up, be the voice of the SDP in Parliament and present its policies to the people.

What issues will you focus on?

Housing and healthcare, as these are the basic necessities for every person.

Favourite spot in Singapore?

It will have to be my home. That's where my family is at the end of a long working day.

I also enjoy weekend family outings to the Marina Barrage, where we can fly kites and have picnics.
