SINGAPORE - Neither the People's Action Party (PAP) nor the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) will hold a rally on Monday (May 2).

Police said in a statement that the Police Elections Permits Office had not received any applications for an election meeting to be held.

The SDP will hold its second rally later on Sunday night (May 1) at the Bukit Gombak Stadium from 7pm to 10pm.

After his walkabout on Sunday morning, SDP chief Chee Soon Juan told media he plans to address Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's earlier criticism of him during Sunday's rally.

Both parties staged their first rallies last Friday (April 29).

Dr Chee and the PAP's Murali Pillai are contesting in the by-election for the Bukit Batok Single-Member Constituency.

Bukit Batok voters will go to the polls on May 7.
