NEW YORK (AFP) - Two tour buses collided in New York City’s fabled Times Square Tuesday, injuring 11 people, authorities said.

“There are two tour buses, total of eleven people injured, three serious, not life-threatening, no fatalities,” a fire department spokesman said.

The accident at the famous intersection, with its dizzying skyscrapers, theatres and flashy billboards, took place a little after 3pm (3am on Wednesday Singapore time) at West 47th Street and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan, the spokesman added.

The spot, annual famous for its New Years Eve bash, is a major tourist draw.
