Football: History makers Arsenal demolish Aston Villa to retain FA Cup
Arsenal retained the FA Cup in majestic style as their 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa in Saturday's final made history for the Gunners and their manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger's side swept Villa aside with a swashbuckling display sparked by Theo Walcott's first half opener and illuminated by a sublime strike from Alexis Sanchez to double their lead after the interval.
Per Mertesacker and substitute Olivier Giroud also got on the scoresheet for the rampant north Londoners to seal Arsenal's second trophy in 12 months with the biggest margin of victory in an FA Cup final since 1994.

Former Maryland Governor O'Malley launches White House bid
Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley blasted social injustice and Wall Street excesses on Saturday as he announced he will seek the Democratic Party's 2016 presidential nomination as an alternative to frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
"We cannot rebuild the American Dream here at home by catering to the voices of the privileged and the powerful," said O'Malley, who has aggressively courted the Democratic Party's liberal wing.
He launched his 2016 White House campaign at a waterfront park in downtown Baltimore, where he began his political career first as a member of city council and then as mayor.

Deadly violence hits northeast as Nigeria president starts term
A deadly suicide bombing inside a mosque and a separate attack by Boko Haram rocked northeast Nigeria's city of Maiduguri on Saturday, a day after President Muhammadu Buhari took office vowing to crush the Islamist group.
The mosque bombing in the Borno state capital by an assailant who pretended to be a worshipper joining afternoon prayers killed at least nine people, witnesses said.

ISIS razes notorious Syria regime jail in Palmyra: Monitor
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria extremist group Saturday demolished a prison in the Syrian city of Palmyra, a monitor said, eliminating what was for decades one of the country's most feared detention centres.
The jail was "largely destroyed after ISIS planted explosives inside and around it", 10 days after the militants had seized Palmyra from regime forces, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Football: Blatter will not see out term of office says FA's Dyke
FIFA president Sepp Blatter will not see out his latest term of office following his re-election on Friday because he will be forced to resign, English Football Association chairman Greg Dyke told reporters on Saturday.
Blatter was handed another four years in charge of world soccer's governing body when his challenger, Prince Ali bin Al Hussein of Jordan, withdrew after losing the first round of voting at the FIFA Congress in Zurich.
Dyke said he did not think an emergency meeting would be called by FIFA following the latest corruption allegations to hit the troubled organisation but he added: "I think what is more likely is there will be further scandals.
