American clothing manufacturer American Apparel has come under fire from Twitter users once again for a back to school campaign that uses young girls in suggestive poses to market clothes.

According to Metro, the main cause of the outrage was a photo that was uploaded onto the company's UK Instagram account. The picture, which has since been taken down, showed a school girl bending over and exposing her underwear and buttocks from a provocative angle.

Twitter users have slammed the ads as "sexist" and "gross" and accused American Apparel of "fuelling Lolita fantasies and rampant sexism a plenty".

This is not the first time the store has been accused of indecency. They used images that seemingly sexualised children in 2009 and a young topless model to promote "natural beauty" in 2011.
