SENIOR Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will be in Jordan from Monday for an official visit.

He will be meeting Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Abdullah Ensour, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh and other Jordanian leaders to explore areas of bilateral cooperation, said a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement on Sunday.

He will also be meeting Singaporean students studying in Jordan.

Mr Masagos will be visiting Ramallah in the Palestinian Terrotories on Wednesday where he will meet leaders of the Palestinian National Authority to discuss areas in which Singapore can support the Palestine in its capacity building efforts.

Last week, Singapore announced a contribution of US$100,000 (S$128,000) to a United Nations Children's Fund programme to help in the provision of clean water and sanitation in Gaza.

The announcement was made at the Cairo International Conference on Palestine and Reconstructing Gaza, which Mr Masagos attended.

Accompanying Mr Masagos on the trip to Jordan and Ramallah are MFA officials.
