MOSCOW (AFP) - Russia said on Sunday it wanted the Ukrainian crisis urgently addressed by both the United Nations Security Council and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

"The development of the situation in south-east Ukraine is extremely dangerous", the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding it was "submitting the crisis situation in south-east Ukraine for urgent review" by the two international groups.

Russia on Sunday also accused Ukraine's leaders of waging "war against their own people" and denounced Kiev's plans to involve the army in an "anti-terrorist" operation against pro-Kremlin separatists.

"We demand... that those who overthrew the legitimate president of Ukraine immediately stop waging war again their own people," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding it was "especially outraged" by Kiev's decision to use armed forces against pro-Kremlin militants.
