PARIS (AFP) - One of four Paris policemen accused of raping a Canadian tourist has admitted to having had "consensual sex" with her, a source close to the investigation told AFP on Saturday.

Three of the four, all members of an elite police unit that fights gang crime, were brought before a magistrate on Saturday after being taken into custody on Thursday.

The fourth officer detained in the case was expected to be released on Saturday.

The policemen initially denied having sex with the 34-year-old Canadian woman, who arrived in France on holiday in mid-April.
