SINGAPORE - Seven passengers on board a Malaysia Airlines flight that crashed over eastern Ukraine on Thursday were bound for Singapore via Kuala Lumpur.
At least three were Dutch nationals, The Straits Times has learnt. It is not known if any of the other four were Singaporeans.
Relatives and friends who turned up at Changi Airport on Friday morning are being attended to by airport officials.
There were 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 which crashed while crossing above a conflict zone in eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian rebels are fighting forces controlled by the government in the capital Kiev.
Malaysia Airlines has yet to verify the nationalities of 41 of the passengers, mainly Dutch nationals, who were on board the flight. The crew members were all Malaysians.
