Argentina lawyers to ask US judge to stay debt ruling

BUENOS AIRES (AFP) - Lawyers for Argentina will ask a New York judge on Monday to stay a ruling requiring it to fully repay creditors owned some US$1.3 billion (S$1.6 billion) in debt, Economy Minister Axel Kicillof said.

Argentina's legal team was to make the request in its meeting with Judge Thomas Griesa, as officials in Buenos Aires hope to avoid default on the debt on June 30.
