Oh, the pressure of maintaining a perfect record.

Yes, The Straits Times' hamster oracles Tiki and Taka have got it wrong. After correctly "predicting" the full-time outcome of four World Cup matches in a row, the fluffy pair have flubbed it.

The 3-2 French revolution played out in the Stadio Straits Times on Thursday was not meant to be. In the actual match early on Saturday, the Germans withstood the onslaught to clinch a 1-0 victory.

Tiki, the female hamster who represented France, squeaked dismally: "We tried our best, but zees time it wasn't our day."

Still, four out of five correct predictions isn't that bad! Even the best teams have their off days. For now, the clairvoyant pair have regrouped in their cosy nests to prepare for the next game.
