Reigning double-division champions CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary endured a day of mixed fortunes at the Schools National Netball Championships finals on Monday.

Their C Division team started slow in their final against the Singapore Sports School, but snatched a 26-25 lead one minute into the final quarter and held on for a comeback 31-28 win.

Said co-vice captain Alena Ong, 13: "Our coach told us to take every quarter for itself, because you, or even your opponents, can easily catch up. It's not over until the final whistle."

However, their B Division seniors team lost 27-31 to Methodist Girls' School, who shocked the defending champions to claim their first B Division title in recent years.
