Singapore's shooter Teh Xiu Yi finished seventh at the Youth Olympic Games women's 10m air pistol final on Sunday.

The 18-year-old finished the qualifications in first place with a score of 382, but the new elimination format used in shooting competitions now meant all eight finalists start on a clean slate. She outshot Ukraine's Polina Konarieva to survive the first round of eliminations, but an awry 8.4 in her last shot meant she was next to go. She said shortly after her event: "It was great and fun. I really think that it's a good experience for my preparation for my future competitions."

In triathlon, Singapore's Denise Chia was 24th overall out of 32 competitiors, clocking 1hr 6min 6sec over her 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run event. It was a personal best for the 17-year-old.

Swimmer Samantha Yeo clocked 32.69s in her 50m breaststroke heats to make the semi-final on Sunday evening.
