NANJING - Singapore shooter Teh Xiu Yi has won the Republic's second medal at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG), teaming up with Egypt's Ahmed Mohamed to take silver in the mixed team 10m air pistol event on Thursday.

The duo lost out 5-10 to Bulgaria's Lidia Nencheva and Uzbekistan's Vladimir Svechnikov in the gold medal match at the Fangshan Shooting Hall.

Xiu Yi, 18, and Mohamed earlier defeated Guatemala's Wilmar Madrid and Agate Rasmane of Latvia 10-9 in the semi-finals.

The medal comes on top of the silver fellow Singaporean shooter Martina Lindsay Veloso won in the individual women's 10m air rifle event.

Singapore, hosts of the inaugural YOG in 2010, won two silvers and five bronzes four years ago. It included a mixed team bronze in archery.
