Team Singapore won its first-ever gold medals at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), clinching two golds in sailing.
Bernie Chin kept his lead in the Men's Byte CII event, topping the 30-strong fleet with a fifth-place finish in the final race of the regatta on Sunday. He kept Pedro Luiz Marcondes Correa of Brazil and Portugal's Rodolfo Pires, who were ranked second and third before Sunday's final race, at bay.
Samantha Yom, competing in the women's event, also won a gold medal. She posted a second place finish in the final race to overtake the Netherlands' Odile van Aanholt.
Their victories, barring protest from other competitors, comes after three straight days of postponements in the competition due to lack of winds, and comes on top of the two silver medals that Martina Lindsay Veloso and Teh Xiu Yi won in shooting. Singapore's 18-strong contingent have now won two golds and two silvers.
At the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, swimmer Yip Pin Xiu won a gold in the 50m backstroke S3 event. At the Summer Olympics, the Republic has two silvers and two bronzes.
Weightlifter Tan Howe Liang won a silver at the 1960 Rome Olympics while paddler Feng Tianwei won a bronze in the women's singles at the 2012 London Games.
Feng, alongside Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu, also won a silver (2008 Beijing) and bronze (2012) in the women's team.
