Table tennis: P5/6 winners of Crocodile Challenge Cup to go to global event

The Crocodile Challenge Cup table tennis singles tournament, organised by the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA), held its finals on Sunday at Velocity at Novena Square.

Ngee Ann Primary School's Koen Pang, 12, beat Joseph Hee of Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) 3-1 (11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-3) in the Primary 5 and 6 boys' final. In the P5 and 6 girls' final, Cayla Tan of Ai Tong School saw off Chong Fu School's Low Min Yi (12-10, 11-5, 12-10).

The two champions of these categories will head to the ITTF World Hopes Week and Challenge from June 9-15 in Otocec, Slovenia.

The tournament saw 232 participants from 57 primary schools across six different categories, according to schooling level and gender. Paddlers aged 7 to 12 were also invited to submit videos of their table tennis trick shots, with the winners picked on Sunday.
