With the June 5-16 SEA Games returning to home ground for the first time since 1993, Singapore has assembled its largest-ever contingent of 748 athletes from 36 sports to represent the Republic.

The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) released the final list of athletes chosen on Tuesday.

According to SNOC secretary-general Chris Chan, the current crop surpasses the previous record number of 483 that represented Singapore in the 1993 Games that was also held on home soil.

"We wish all athletes and officials the best in their final preparations and we are looking forward to flying Singapore's flag high at the upcoming SEA Games on home ground," he added.

The sports that make up most of the numbers are aquatics (swimming, diving, synchronised swimming and water polo) and athletics, with 75 and 73 athletes respectively.

Additionally, Team Singapore's Flag Presentation Ceremony for the 28th SEA Games will take place on Tuesday, May 12 at 6.30pm at the Singapore Sports Hub's OCBC Square.
