SINGAPORE - The third edition of The Color Run in Singapore is set to attract some 18,000 participants this year, making it the biggest instalment of the series in South-east Asia.

The two-day event, dubbed "the happiest 5k on the planet", is an un-timed fun run that douses runners from head to toe in colour powder in a celebration of health and happiness. It will take place at Sentosa from Aug 22-23 this year.

Local runners who take part this year will be the first in the region to experience coloured glitter powder.

CIMB Bank is returning as the presenting sponsors of the event. Mak Lye Mun, country head of CIMB Group Singapore and chief executive officer of CIMB Bank Singapore, said there is extra significance in holding the event close to the National Day weekend.

He said: "This year will be especially momentous, and CIMB Bank Singapore can't wait to colour the nation with the runners as we celebrate Singapore's 50 years of independence."

Public registration will begin on June 15, 3pm, but CIMB Bank Singapore customers will be able to register for the event a week before that, while enjoying a 10 per cent discount off registration fees. A total of 1,800 slots will be reserved for the bank's retail customers.
