SINGAPORE - Thailand's tennis team ruled the courts at the Kallang Tennis Centre on Friday, winning all four matches played.

Warin Sornbutnak and Varatchaya Wongteanchai defeated their Philippine opponents Jeson Patrombon and Katharina Lehnert 6-4, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-1 in the men's and women's singles semi-finals respectively.

Noppawan Lertcheewakarn then defeated Indonesia's Lavinia Tananta 6-0, 6-3 to make it an all-Thai women's singles final.

Finally, tennis icon Tamarine Tanasugarn paired up with Peangtarn Plipuech to trump Vietnam's Dao Minh Trang and Phan Thi Thanh 6-0, 6-2 in the women's doubles quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Cambodia's remaining competitor, Kenny Bun, was knocked out of the men's singles semi-finals by Indonesia's David Susanto in the first match of the day, losing 1-6, 6-7.

"(I'm) a little bit disappointed because I think I had the chance to win... Today I couldn't play at my hundred per cent (due to a shoulder injury) but I tried to fight," said Bun. "I hope I will (heal), and in two years I can get silver or gold."

Only six of the day's 12 matches were played owing to poor weather. The remaining matches will commence today.
