Local communication design and production group Kingsmen Creatives has come on board as the fourth sponsor of the 28th SEA Games, which will be hosted at the Singapore Sports Hub from June 5-16 next year.

On Thursday, the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (Singsoc) announced that Kingsmen - who has worked on other sporting events like the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix - will be the official venue planning provider of the regional meet in a sponsorship deal worth a total of $3 million.

Kingsmen is the first Tier 2 sponsor for the Games next year.

A team of designers, draftsmen, project managers and operations personnel had already delivered venue planning services worth $1.8 million last month. These services include plans for overlay works, the preparation of detailed specifications and conducting of site inspections of over 50 competition and training venues.

The remaining $1.2 million will go towards Games advertising on Kingsmen's LED screen outside the Wilkie Edge building at Wilkie Road. The screen advertising is expected to reach out to approximately 4.5 million people per month over a 52-week period.

"We are pleased to welcome Kingsmen...as we celebrate the extraordinary with the 28th SEA Games, in conjunction with Singapore's Golden Jubilee next year," said Toh Boon Yi, Singsoc's chief of community and corporate outreach.

"We look forward to leveraging each other's experience from hosting major sporting events, in creating a memorable Games that all Singaporeans can be proud of."
