SINGAPORE - Favourites Gao Ning and Li Hu beat Thailand's Padasak Tanviriyavechakul and Chanakarn Udomsilp in the table tennis men's doubles final to make it two gold medals for Singapore at the 28th SEA Games on Tuesday night.

Gao and Li dominated through the match, beating the Thais 11-8, 11-8, 2-10, 11-4 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Said Li after their win: "There was more pressure than ever, because there are a lot of Singaporeans watching us play on home ground and we wanted to win even more. We overcame all of that, and it wasn't easy."

Earlier, Gao and Li's team-mates Zhou Yihan and Lin Ye bagged the women's doubles gold, making the hosts the first nation to win a title at this year's Games. Feng Tianwei and Yu Mengyu took the silver in that event, while Clarence Chew and Chen Feng were bronze medallists in the men's doubles event.

The table tennis events will continue on Wednesday with the mixed doubles title set to be awarded.
