Local mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Royston Wee notched his second win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after seeing off a challenge from Chinese rival Yao Zhikui in Macau today.
Singapore's first fighter in the world's leading MMA promotion was declared the winner over Yao, who competed in the heavier featherweight category in the reality TV series The Ultimate Fighter: China, in their bantamweight bout at UFC Fight Night Macau via a split decision (29-28, 29-28, 27-30).
Having defeated Filipino fighter Dave Galera via an unanimous decision in his debut UFC fight at the Marina Bay Sands in January, Wee remains undefeated in the promotion.
