Mexican-American mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Miguel Torres has been drawn to face Japanese Takahiro Ashida in Rebel FC 2: Battle Royale, which will be held on Aug 1 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Former UFC fighter Torres, who is 33 and holds a 41-7 record, will be counting on his experience against the younger Ashida, 24, who fancies a stand-up fight in round one of the eight-men featherweight knockout competition.

In the other legs, American Will Chope (19-6) will face Brazilian Mauricio Dos Santos Jr (10-8). Australian Michael Tobin (8-0) will meet Thai Pat Promrangka (5-4) and Filipino Reydon Romero, the reigning Universal Reality Combat Champion (7-4), will fight Japanese Yojiro Uchimura (11-6).
