Four-time Olympic champion Kitajima set to compete in Sept 5-7 Singapore Swim Stars

Four-time Olympic gold medallist Kosuke Kitajima of Japan has signed up for the Sept 5-7 Singapore Swim Stars, event organisers Sports Swim Organisation confirmed on Friday.

The breaststroke specialist, nicknamed "Frog King" in his home country for his superhuman feats in the pool, will compete in the 100 metres breaststroke final on Sept 5 at the OCBC Aquatic Centre.

Kitajima will feature in a star-studded final that includes South Africa's world record holder and reigning Olympic champion Cameron van der Burgh, Australia's reigning world champion Christian Sprenger, Hungary's Daniel Gyurta, and Italy's Fabio Scozzoli. All five swimmers featured in the 100m breaststroke final at the 2012 London Olympics.

Tickets to the Singapore Swim Stars start from $30 and are available at www.sportshubtix.sg, SingPost outlets, and at the Singapore Indoor Stadium's box office.
