The Republic's women keglers posted an all-Singaporean podium finish on Saturday evening at the 37th Malaysian International Open at the Sunway Mega Lanes in Selangor.

Cherie Tan, 26, emerged as the women's champion after defeating her sister, 23-year-old Daphne Tan, 237-194. Joey Yeo, 17, came in third.

The Singapore women's team saw off competition from China, Malaysia and the Philippines en route to the step-ladder finals with a rousing performance - Five of the six finalists are Singaporeans.

National coach Remy Ong hailed the team's display as a morale booster for the upcoming Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, in September.
