Singapore sailing duo Jovin Tan and Yap Qian Yin won a gold medal at the Asian Para Games in Incheon on Wednesday. It is the Republic's first-ever gold medal at the continental meet.

The duo finished with a net total of nine points after nine races to top the two-person keelboat (dinghy 303) table at the Wangsan Sailing Marina.

Japan's Shinya Yamamoto and Mari Kitagawa were second with 23 points. Malaysia's Nurul Amilin Balawi and Mustafah Junell were third with 26 points.

Their win means Singapore now have one gold and four bronzes from Incheon, improving on their haul from the previous edition in Guangzhou, where they earned four bronzes.
