Singapore wakeboarder Sasha Christian won a gold and bronze at the Asian Beach Games in Phuket on Thursday, the Republic's third and fourth medal at the biennial event.

The 21-year-old emerged tops in a field of six in the women's slalom event, beating South Korean Han Ahreum and Indonesia's Ummu Thoyibhatus Sholikah.

Christian then took the bronze in the wakeboarding event, finishing behind China's Han Qiu and South Korean Yun Hee Hyun. She was the only South-east Asian in the six-strong field.

Both slalom and wakeboarding events will be contested at the SEA Games in Singapore next June.

Singapore have now won two golds and two bronzes at the Phuket Games. Cheng Zhi Ming had bagged the Republic's first gold in the men's petanque event on Monday, while Izzati Ismail accounted for a bronze in women's shooting.
