Golf: World's top-three female golfers set for showdown at Sentosa on Sunday

SINGAPORE - This year's HSBC Women's Champions will see a shoot-out between the world's top three female golfers on Sunday at the Sentosa Golf Club's Serapong Course.

World No. 2 Park In Bee fired a four-under 68 in her third round on Saturday to open up a two-shot lead at the US$1.4 million (S$1.9 million) tournament. Following her third straight bogey-free round, the South Korean is on 13-under-par 203.

Her closest rivals are top-ranked Lydia Ko and world No. 3 Stacy Lewis, who both signed matching five-under 67s and are tied for second on 205.

Said the South Korean: "It's a great leaderboard and all the fans will be looking forward to seeing us play tomorrow. Having a two-shot lead over No. 1 and No. 3 is a great result and hopefully I can keep my lead till the end.

"The final group on a Sunday is where you want to be. It doesn't matter who's in the group. This is the position I want to be in tomorrow."

The European trio Anna Nordqvist (68) of Sweden, Suzann Pettersen (68) of Norway and Azahara Munoz (70) of Spain are on 207 and a further two strokes back in joint-fourth.

Said Pettersen, ranked 5th in the world: "We're playing against the best players in the world and you have to anticipate them to go out and shot a lower number tomorrow."

Defending champion Paula Creamer is unlikely to retain her title after posting a 74. She is tied-50th and a massive 16 shots off the summit. American Michelle Wie also had a 74 and is tied-38th on 217.
