Even as she is looking ahead to the HSBC Women's Champions golf showpiece this week, Paula Creamer cannot help but reflect on the remarkable 75-foot eagle putt that won her the title one year ago.

"I still watch the video now and can't believe that happened - Singapore will always have a special place in my heart because of that so let's create even more happy memories this week," the American, 28, told The Straits Times on Tuesday.

Creamer's dramatic play-off win over Spaniard Azahara Munoz is unlikely to be topped, but top-quality golf can still be expected from the world's top 63 players at the Sentosa Golf Club from Thursday to Sunday.

New Zealand prodigy Lydia Ko, the youngest world No. 1 at 17, headlines the US$1.4 million (S$1.91 million) event.

Coming off back-to-back tournament wins for the first time in her fledgling career, the teenager is hopeful of a hat-trick on the notoriously tricky Serapong course.

She said: "The course is tough especially when the wind picks up and the quality of the field is really strong. I have got to bring my 'A' game."
