GREENSBORO, United States (AFP) - Three-time major champion Padraig Harrington missed the cut on Friday at the Wyndham Championship, losing his US PGA Tour card for next season.

The Irishman was four-over par after two rounds at Sedgefield Country Club, well outside the projected cut line of two-under with the second round winding down.

Harrington, won British Open titles in 2007 and 2008 and the PGA Championship in 2008 - but that PGA triumph was his last on the US Tour.

He is now will now head back to Europe, where a start in the Italian Open in two weeks seemed likely.
