Denmark's Anders Hansen showcased some spectacular putting to share the lead with Thai Panuphol Pittayarat going into the final round of The Championship at Laguna National.

Three-time European Tour winner Hansen fired a five-under 67 on Saturday for a 200 total, similar to Panuphol (69), who has sat atop the leaderboard since the first day.

Hansen, 43, said: "I'm very pleased. I didn't hit the ball that great today but I made a couple of good putts on the last few holes. It was nice to finish with those three birides on 15 (15ft), 16 (20ft) and 17 (25ft)."

A total of eight players, including Englishmen Chris Wood (68) and Tommy Fleetwood (69), are within four strokes of the leaders, setting up what could be an intriguing round of golf on Sunday.

Singapore duo Quincy Quek and Lam Chih Bing both carded a 72 and are tied-50th at the $1.89 million event, which is co-sanctioned by the Asian and European Tours. A 70 gave defending champion Brett Rumford a share of 20th spot.
