F1: Singapore Airlines signs up as Sauber's official airline partner

HINWIL, SWITZERLAND - The Sauber Formula One Team announced on Wednesday that Singapore Airlines has signed up as its official airline partner.

With this partnership, SIA will provide flights for the team to the overseas F1 races, mainly in the Asian and Australian territories.

Said Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn: "We are excited to embark on a long-term and sustainable partnership with Singapore Airlines, the world's most renowned airline and a highly-respected company with a true global presence.

"Its unparalleled ambition to deliver the best in industry service perfectly matches with our striving for leading edge racing in F1."

Ranjan Jha, SIA's general manager in Switzerland, added: "We are very pleased to be the official airline partner of the Sauber F1 Team. We share the same fascination and passion for engineering and consistent ambition for innovation, highest quality and precision.

"Sauber stands for a strong brand with a long-time, impressive tradition. We are excited about the new season and looking forward to embarking on this journey together."

Besides being Sauber's official airline partner, SIA is also in the midst of a two-year naming rights deal for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix in September.
