Football: Three ITE footballers impress with skills to win trip to watch Real Madrid

Three ITE students have won a trip to Spain to watch a Real Madrid home game after they were chosen as the best players of the H-TWO-O/ITE Ultimate Champions League Finals on Wednesday.

Rakhveer Singh (ITE College Central), Adam Ng Wei Jun (ITE College East) and Muhammad Fitri (ITE College West) received the Exemplary Awards after impressing at the tournament at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The trio will also compete with players from 181 mens' team from the three ITE Colleges (Central, West and East) who participated in this year's tournament, to be selected for training with the H-TWO-O Ultimate Dream Team.

Players from nine womens' team, who also took part in the tournament, will also be considered for the Dream Team.

Some of the players from previous editions of the team have gone on to become professional footballers, like the LionsXII midfielders Samuel Benjamin and Ignatius Ang.

"(This tournament) has given a chance for players from secondary schools and ITEs to pursue their dreams of playing football professionally," said Zainudin Nordin, president of the Football Association of Singapore.

"This has benefited Singapore football and contributed immensely to groom the local talent in our S-League today."

Added May Ngiam, vice-president for marketing of Yeo's: "We hope this initiative will widen and heighten the interest for local football to a wider audience."
