A new-look strikeforce will spearhead Singapore's attack in their upcoming friendly matches against Papua New Guinea (Sept 6) and Hong Kong (Sept 9).

Home United's Fazrul Nawaz and Courts Young Lions' Sahil Suhaimi are the 25-man squad's only pure strikers, and will shoulder the goalscoring burden for the Lions. Captain Shahril Ishak, who normally plays up front, is out with a hamstring injury. Fazrul and Sahil have scored 10 and eight goals respectively so far this season.

National Under-23 coach Aide Iskandar, who stood in for head coach Bernd Stange at the press conference ahead of the clash against Papua New Guinea, said: "This two matches are a chance for us to assess the players ahead of the Asian Games and also the (Asean Football Federation) Suzuki Cup. We go into every match aiming to win, so this is no different. But at the same time we want to play good football, and entertain the fans."

Both matches will be played at Hougang Stadium, and kick off at 7.30pm.
