The LionsXII have been drawn with holders Pahang, Felda United and a Johor Darul Takzim II (JDT II) side starring Singapore football captain Shahril Ishak in the Malaysia Cup.
The draw for the traditional cup competition, which first started in 1921, was held on Sunday afternoon in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
Placed in Group A, Fandi Ahmad's team, who finished eighth in the 12-team Malaysian Super League (MSL) will meet holders Pahang, who finished third in this year's MSL. Completing the group are second-tiered Malaysian Premier League (MPL) teams Felda United and JDT II.
Terengganu, Sarawak, Perak from the MSL and MPL team Kedah make up Group B.
Current MSL champions JDT I, featuring Singapore international midfielder Hariss Harun, headline Group C, alongside Kelantan, Malaysian armed forces team ATM and Penang.
Group D sees MSL runner-up Selangor take on Sime Darby, Malaysian police side PDRM and T-Team.
The first round of fixtures will kick-off on August 13, with the final to be played on November 8. The detailed fixtures will be released at a later date.
