He may have just four games as the boss in the dugout but Ryan Giggs has what it takes to be a top manager, Rio Ferdinand believes.

"If he wants to make a career of it, he's got a good chance," the centre-back, 35, said of his Manchester United colleague.

Ferdinand was speaking on the sidelines of the SG Game On! Ultimate Selfie challenge, jointly-organised by SingTel and Samsung, which saw him trump Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero in garnering the most retweets for his selfies snapped in Singapore.

Set to leave the club after 12 years of service, Ferdinand saw how the mood at the club lifted under Giggs after the sacking of David Moyes even though the four-game reign produced mixed results - Two wins, a draw and a defeat, as United's disappointing campaign ended in a seventh-place finish in the English Premier League.

But even as the club prepare to unveil Louis van Gaal as the new manager next week, Ferdinand paid Giggs a glowing tribute.

"I enjoyed it," he said of working under the interim player-manager, who has spent his entire professional career at Old Trafford.

"He's been at the club for many years and got vast experience. This (management) is totally different, of course, but he seemed comfortable."
