Convicted Singapore match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal was arrested in Helsinki last week, according to Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

According to reports, the 48-year-old was detained after the Singapore authorities issued an international arrest warrant.

"The police will investigate and after that it will be judged if he can be extradited", said Jari Nieminen, who is leading the investigation.

Wilson Raj was arrested in 2011 in Finland for bribing players in the Finnish league and was sentenced to two years' jail. He is believed to also have been involved in the fixing of both international and Australian football league matches.

He served half that sentence before being extradited to Budapest, where he assisted in match-fixing trials.
