The Singapore Under-23 team has been drawn in Group C of the Asian Games football tournament, alongside Oman, Palestine and Tajikistan.

The squad to compete in next month's Asiad, hosted in Incheon, South Korea, will be led by national coach Bernd Stange and assisted by Court Young Lions coach Aide Iskandar.

Said Stange: "Our players are raring to go after our recent training tour of Austria in July, and the 3-2 away win over Bahrain in early August has also lifted their confidence.

"Taking part in a tournament like the Asian Games is important for the long-term development of our younger players. We aim to perform well in every game, and hopefully do enough to progress to the next round."

The Football Association of Singapore said that the 25-man Asian Games squad will be unveiled next week.
