SINGAPORE - Volunteers from Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Citizens Consultative Committee and Seng Poh Residents' Committee gave out "reminders" to those who parked illegally in Tiong Bahru on Sunday morning.

These slips of paper, tucked under windshield wipers, invited motorists to claim a "Gracious Driving" gift pack at Tiong Bahru Flea Market at Kim Cheng Street. Motorists who parked well received "rewards" slips with the same invitation.

The gift packs, handed out by grassroots adviser Indranee Rajah, included a book on gracious driving, a leaflet on good parking habits and an "I Heart Gracious Driving" car decal.

This was the second phase of Tiong Bahru's "Is this your grandfather's road?" campaign for gracious road use. The first phase, in January, encouraged drivers to use the 700 public parking spaces in the estate instead of parking illegally.
