SINGAPORE - Train services on the East-West Line were delayed by up to 20 minutes on Friday afternoon.

SMRT said on its Facebook page at 1.53pm that this was due to a "train fault" at Redhill MRT station. A second update at 2.16pm said that normal services had been restored.

Free bus services were provided between Outram Park and Queenstown MRT stations to transport affected commuters. SMRT apologised for the inconvenience.

On Sept 13, a signalling fault at Newton MRT station resulted in a delay of about 20 minutes for commuters on the North-South Line.
