SINGAPORE - A Tigerair plane was grounded in Trichy after pilots discovered a windshield crack during a flight from Singapore to the south Indian city on Monday.

It is not clear what caused the crack but the aircraft landed safety at the airport, The Straits Times understands.

Tigerair flew a team up to Trichy on Monday night to have the windshield replaced and also made arrangements for hotel accommodation for passengers who were non-residents of Trichy.

The return flight, which was delayed by a day, left Trichy at 11.30am on Tuesday.
