Singapore biker dies in accident on Malaysia's North-South Expressway

A 53-year-old biker from Singapore was killed on Tuesday and his wife seriously injured in an accident along a Malaysian highway near Nilai, Seremban.

Mr Esa Badri had apparently lost control of his Yamaha FJR1300 motorcycle as he was negotiating a corner along the North-South Expressway Central Link, also known as Elite Expressway.

Nilai district police chief reportedly told The New Straits Times that early investigations showed the superbike skidded to the left side of the road after Mr Esa lost control while corneringon the highway. His wife Nurhayati Ashar, also 53, was seriously injured and rushed to Putrajaya Hospital for medical treatment, while his body was sent to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for a post-mortem.

The couple, both Singaporeans, had been part of a convoy of bikes that were returning to Singapore after a short a holiday in Krabi, Thailand.
